English: During the the NPP VIIRS Validation cruise on the NOAA Research Vessel Nancy Foster, Bob Arnone (USM) and Eric Stossel (NOAA NESDIS) raise six irradiance radiometers to collect data for comparison with satellite measurements along with surface radiometers deployed on the ocean’s surface and below to profile the ocean at depths down to 15m. The Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) is aboard the Suomi National Polar-orbiting Partnership (NPP) spacecraft. npp.gsfc.nasa.gov/viirs.html
