Summary[edit]

Description
English: All instruments and hardware that go onto NASA’s aircraft have to go through environmental testing before flight to make sure they withstand various temperatures, pressure and turbulence. This computer hardware is going through a temperature and pressure test at Armstrong Flight Research Center’s Environmental Lab. The simulated altitude was 50,000 feet at 0 degrees Celsius. In addition to supporting field research, airborne missions often test technology for future satellites. airbornescience.nasa.gov Image credit: NASA/AFRC
