Summary[edit]

Description
English: In the animation light is passing through two surfaces of a rotating hexagonal ice crystal. The light is being refracted at each surface as it effectively passes through a 60° prism. This animation only shows the most intense light being transmitted at any given moment while the below animation illustrates one complete cycle While the light is being refracted in the range of angles between 22° and 44º, it is at the minimum angle of deflection of 22° with which it is the most intense for reasons related to the amount of time the light is being transmitted at that angle and the intensity of the light being transmitted at that angle.
