Summary[edit]

Description
English: General view of the 'Name Plates': Almost 20,000 Soviet prisoners of war who died in the Bergen-Belsen camp were buried there between 1941 and 1945 in row graves without names. Since the 1990s, archival research has made it possible to identify many of their names and since 2007, pupils from schools in Lower Saxony have been making clay tiles with the names as part of projects and placing them on the edge of the cemetery.
