Description
Deutsch: „Auf Ochse!“ ist ein Kunstprojekt des in Coesfeld ansässigen Kunstervereins Münsterland e.V.. Der Ochse ist das Wappentier der Kreisstadt Coesfeld, nach Münster älteste Stadt im Münsterland. An historisch bedeutenden und besonders ausgezeichneten Stellen der Stadt Coesfeld wurden insgesamt 13 in Beton gegossene und bemalte Ochsen auf Sockeln platziert.
Der abgebildete Ochse Globe Trotter steht am Standort des früheren, 1320 erbauten Viehtores. Von hier, wo Kleine und Große Viehstraße aufeinander treffen, führten die Straßen nach Ahaus und Rheine.
