Description2015 Warrior Games Opening Ceremony 150619-Z-PA893-043.jpg |
English: U.S. Army team veteran Sean Hook, a retired infantry sergeant, gives the thumbs-up as opening ceremonies initiated the 2015 Warrior Games. The intra-service Paralympic styled competition began in 2010 and had been dominated by the U.S. Marine Corps team each year until Team Army pulled an upset in 2014 taking home the Commander’s Cup as team top medalist. This will be Hooks third year competing in the games. He also medaled in the inaugural Invictus Games in London’s 2012 Olympic Park. With Marine Corps Base Quantico playing host to the nearly 250 participating athletes representing six service teams including U.S. Special Operations Command and the British Armed Forces, he knows that out-medaling them on their home turf may prove tricky but it is doable and succinctly stated, “… confidence is key to keeping the Commanders Cup on the Army mantle place.” (Photo by Staff Sgt.
