Deutsch: 04.03.2015 01683 Rothschönberg (Klipphausen): Ehem. Rittergut und Schloß Rothschönberg (GMP: 51.066050,13.391796). Das Schloß ist der Stammsitz der Adelsfamilie von Schönberg, die über Jahrhunderte wichtige Ämter im sächsischen Staatsdienst und öffentlichen Leben hatte. Das weit verzweigte Geschlecht erwarb in Kursachsen mehr als 200 Rittergüter, von denen einige bis 1945 in Familienbesitz blieben. Dazu gehörte auch Rothschönberg. Der Herrensitz in Spornlage, an der Einmündung eines Seitentals in das Triebischtal, könnte schon im 12. Jahrhundert gegründet worden sein. Bereits seit 1290 waren die Ritter von Schönberg in Rothschönberg dauerhaft ansässig. 1392 wird das Schloß zum ersten Mal urkundlich erwähnt. Die Bauten, die den Hof umgeben, wurden im 17. und 18. Jahrhundert an diese älteren Kerne angefügt. Im Schloß befanden sich in den Jahren der DDR das Gemeindeamt, der Dorfklub, der Kindergarten, eine Arztstation und viele Wohnungen.
