Summary[edit]

Description

One of many exhibits in the visitor area.

On Tuesday, June 7, 2011, participants at the IACA conference had the opportunity to have supper at the Royal Canadian Mint in Winnipeg and to have a guided tour of the facility.

The Mint in Winnipeg makes all Canadian coins as well as coins for dozens of other countries, including the USA. Their longest continuous contract has been for over 30 years with Barbados.

Unfortunately, photography of the actual coin making process is prohibited, so no manufacturing photos were taken. However, having seen this mint and the Denver mint tours, I can say the Royal Canadian Mint tour is much, much more impressive and informative. It's just too bad I couldn't take shots of this amazing operation.

IACA is the International Association of Commercial Administrators. See their web site at www.iaca.org
