Description
Deutsch: 23.10.2008 01445 Radebeul-Oberlößnitz: Blick von Süden. Rechts die Villa Sophienhof Radebeul (auch Villa Louisenhof), Eduard-Bilz-Straße 21 (früher Sophienstraße) / Ecke Maxim-Gorki-Straße (GMP: 51.105012,13.677023). Im Jahr 1877 bauten die Gebrüder Ziller als erstes Gebäude dieser Straße den Sophienhof, eine mit der Hauptansicht in Richtung des Alvslebenplatzes ausgerichtete und mit einem Turm versehene Villa. Sowohl der Sophienhof als auch die Sophienstraße sind nach der Zillerschwester Sophie Eugenia (1853-1874) benannt. Um die Straße, die am Alvslebenplatz beziehungsweise der Nizzastraße beginnt, aufzuwerten, stellte Moritz Ziller am Straßenbeginn zwei auf Postamenten platzierte Terrakotta-Figurengruppen, die "Girlandenwindenden Bacchanten" aus der Charlottenburger Tonwarenfabrik Ernst March auf. Die Postamente sind in die Umfriedung der Eckgrundstücke integriert, so auch bei der Nr. 21, dem Sophienhof. Die unter Denkmalschutz stehenden Figurengruppen wurden 2008-2010 restauriert.
