Der Bahnhof Dresden-Friedrichstadt ist eine Betriebsstelle der Bahnstrecke Dresden-Friedrichstadt-Elsterwerda auf dem Stadtgebiet der sächsischen Landeshauptstadt Dresden. Dresden-Friedrichstadt ist der zentrale Güterbahnhof im Eisenbahnknoten Dresden. Darüber hinaus existieren auch Verkehrsanlagen des Reiseverkehrs, die für den regionalen Verkehr genutzt werden. Mit dem Dresdner Berliner Bahnhof bestand seit 1875 ein Bahnhof an seiner Stelle. Der Rangierbahnhof wurde ab 1890 als Gefällebahnhof errichtet, hinzu kamen das Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk Dresden und das Bahnbetriebswerk. Nach starken Zerstörungen durch die Luftangriffe auf Dresden im Zweiten Weltkrieg begann noch im Jahre 1945 der Wiederaufbau. Mit der Wende 1989 ging seine Bedeutung zurück. Er war bis zur Aufgabe des Ablaufbetriebes im Jahr 2009 neben dem Bahnhof Engelsdorf (b Leipzig) die einzige in Sachsen noch verbliebene zentrale Betriebsstelle zur Behandlung von Zügen im Einzelwagenverkehr.
