Description
Deutsch: 11.10.2006 01109 Dresden: Deutsche Werkstätten Hellerau, Moritzburger Weg 67. Rechts der Altbau mit dem Torhaus (GMP: 51.107400,13.759350). Gründer war der Zschopauer Carl Camillo Schmidt (1873-1948), der sich selbst einfach Karl Schmidt und ab 1938 Karl Schmidt-Hellerau nannte. Am 04.06.1908 gründete Schmidt, der Ende des 19. Jh. in Laubegast eine Bautischlerei und Möbelfabrik errichtet hatte, die Gartenstadt-Gesellschaft Hellerau GmbH. Andere bezog er in sein Vorhaben ein, so seinen Schwager Richard Riemerschmid (1868-1957) , der den Bebauungsplan entwarf, und Wolf Dohrn (1878-1914). Ohne Dohrn hätte es das Festspielhaus nie gegeben. Nach Planungen von Richard Riemerschmid werden 1909-1910 die "Deutsche Werkstätten für Handwerkskunst" errichtet. Der erste Spatenstich für Hellerau erfolgte am 1. 04. 1909. Ein Jahr später wurden die ersten Möbel produziert und die ersten Bewohnen zogen ein. [DSCN11982.TIF]20061011140DR.JPG(c)Blobelt
