Deutsch: 29.04.2006 Dresden: Blick von Süden nach Wachwitz zum Schloß Oberwachwitz (GMP: 51.046145,13.829167) am Kotzschweg. Der Königliche Weinberg in Wachwitz geht auf Prinz Friedrich August zurück, der seit 1824 das Areal am Berghang aufkaufte. Dazu gehörte auch der Weinberg des Ritterguts Wachwitz. Im Gegensatz zu den Königsschlössern wurde nach dem Ende der Monarchie 1918 der Wachwitzer Weinberg als Privatbesitz des vormaligen Königshauses nicht enteignet. Prinz Friedrich Christian, der sich nunmehr Markgraf von Meißen nannte und nun in Dresden eine standesgemäße Unterkunft suchte, ließ sich auf dem Wachwitzer Weinberg 1936/37 ein Schloß errichten. Die Pläne erstellte das Dresdner Architekturbüro Lossow & Kühne, Josef von Lamatsch arbeitete die Pläne aus. Es wirkt wie ein Barockschloß aus vergangenen Zeiten. In der DDR-Zeit war hier ein Hotel des sowjetischen Ministeriums für Außenhandel, dann Sonderschule der FDJ und nach 1990 Tagungsstätte der Medizinischen Akademie "Carl Gustav Carus". Seit 1993 stand es leer. Nach der Wende forderte Maria Emanuel Markgraf von Meißen den Wachwitzer Weinberg für das Haus Wettin zurück, aber der Rechtsstreit ging zugunsten des Freistaates Sachsen aus.
