Description
Deutsch: 29.04.2003 39343 Hillersleben (Westheide): Kloster (GMP: 52.273091,11.488327), vermutlich in der 2. Hälfte des 10. Jahrhunderts als Nonnenkloster gegründet. Nachdem es um das Jahr 1000 unter Kaiser Otto III. bei einem Einfall der Slawen zerstört worden war, ließ Erzbischof Gero von Magdeburg das Kloster 1022 neu errichten. 1096 wurde es von Bischof Herrand von Halberstadt durch Benediktinermönche aus Ilsenburg besiedelt. 1577 schloß sich der Konvent der Augsburgischen Konfession an. 1628-1632 wurde das Kloster noch einmal katholisch, danach nahm es das Magdeburger Domkapitel in Besitz. 1687 wurde das Klostergut in eine Domäne umgewandelt. 1935 ging die Domäne an die Deutsche Heeresverwaltung über, 1945 übernahmen die sowjetischen Streitkräfte die Klosterdomäne. 1951 wurde sie mit der Bodenreform an die Neubauern übergeben. Klosterkirche urspr. dreischiffige spätromanische Pfeilerbasilika nach Hirsauer Schema. Begonnen nach 1179, vollende 1260, im 18, Jh. Ruine, bei der Erneuerung nach 1859 stark verändert.
