Deutsch: 08.06.2002 18581 Putbus (Rügen): Theatergebäude (GMP: 54.352786,13.469558), Markt 13 / Ecke Alleestraße. Klassizistischer Bau (1819-1821) vermutl. nach Entwurf von W. Steinbach (wahrscheinlich nach Ideen Schinkels), 1835 umgebaut, mit Portikus und Giebeldreieck. Das Schauspielhaus ist eines der ältesten Bauwerke von Putbus - heute das wertvollste. Die Hauptfont des langgestreckten Gebäudes schmücken vier dorische Säulen, drei ursprüngliche Haupteingänge und im Obergeschoß ein musischer Fries. Ehemals gastierten hier Schauspieltrupps aus ganz Deutschland zur Erbauung der sogenannten feinen Welt. Im Jahre 1953, nachdem das Gebäude lange Zeit ungenutzt geblieben und durch gründliche Restaurierung vor dem Verfall bewahrt worden war, öffnete es seine Pforten.
