Contratada su construcción con la fabrica SIKORSKY AIRCRAFT en 1970, Nº de serie 61495, entregado para vuelos de aceptación en marzo de 1972, fue incorporado a la AVIACION NAVAL como 0675 / H-31 el 22 de mayo de 1972 con 103,5 hs. de vuelo totales. Equipado con sonar y sistemas para guerra antisubmarina. El 30 de mayo de 1972 inició el vuelo de traslado al país junto con el 0676 / H-32 desde STRATFORD (CONNECTICUT) hasta CTE. ESPORA el que duró 23 días, cerca de 70 hs. de vuelo y mas de 7000 millas recorridas. Operó como 0675 / H-31 con la ESCUADRILLA AERONAVAL DE HELICOPTEROS y luego como 0675 / 2-H-231 con la SEGUNDA ESCUADRILLA AERONAVAL DE HELICOPTEROS. Fue la primer aeronave en tocar suelo de las ISLAS MALVINAS la mañana del 2 de abril de 1982, operando desde el Rompehielos ARA ALMIRANTE IRIZAR, desembarcando Infantes de Marina. Operó desde el Portaaviones ARA 25 DE MAYO y desde la ciudad de VIEDMA en misiones antisubmarinas. Los días finales de la guerra volvió a operar desde el Rompehielos ARA ALMIRANTE IRIZAR como helicóptero sanitario evacuando heridos desde las islas. Registró su último vuelo el 22 de agosto de 1986 registrando un total de 2686,6 hs. totales en servicio, quedando canibalizado en el TALLER AERONAVAL CENTRAL hasta el año 2007 en que por orden del COMANDO DE LA AVIACION NAVAL fue entregado al MUSEO DE LA AVIACION NAVAL para su restauración. Su presentación en sociedad fue el 16 de mayo de 2009 en el que fue expuesto con los colores que lucía en 1982, en el helipuerto frente al HANGAR TECNOLOGICO del MUAN, para LA NOCHE DE LOS MUSEOS II.
