Description

View looking north along Front Street (now 1st Avenue) from James Street or Yesler Way. Henry Yesler's home is located on the right side behind the trees. Malso Meat Market, Doane's Baths, Chilberg and Roe groceries, Boyd, Poncin & Young dry goods store and the Post Intelligencer newspaper offices are located on the left side. Bottom: Memorial service for President Garfield at the Occidental Hotel after his assassination September 1881.
