Français : Carte stellaire de l'environnement galactique proche, comprenant les 2000 étoiles les plus brillantes (de magnitude absolue inférieure à -1) situées à moins de 500 parsecs du Soleil, d'après les relevés du satellite Hipparcos (catalogue HIP2), vues de l'extérieur de la galaxie à 1500 parsecs. L'observateur se déplace sur la longitude galactique 90°, de la latitude 0° (vue dans le plan du disque galactique) à la latitude 90° (vue face au disque galactique). Le centre galactique serait situé 8000 parsecs vers la droite. Le Soleil est figuré en bleu au centre. Le Bras d'Orion local est matérialisé par une traînée d'étoiles brillantes visible du dessus sur un axe grossièrement vertical, un peu incliné, en vision de face. La Ceinture de Gould désigne l'anneau incomplet d'étoiles entourant la zone moins dense du voisinage solaire. L'étoile rouge la plus proche du Soleil est Bételgeuse.
English: Stellar map of the near galactic environment, comprising the 2000 brightest stars (absolute magnitude below -1) located less than 500 pc away from the sun, after measurements by Hipparcos (HIP2 catalog), seen from outside the galaxy 1500 pc away. The observer is moving along 90° galactic longitude, from latitude 0° (plane of the galactic disk, "edge-on" view) to latitude 90° (facing the galactic disk, "face-on" view). The galactic center would be 8000 pc on the right. The Sun is symbolized by the blue dot. The local Orion Arm is materialized by a rough stream of bright stars on an axis slightly tilted from the vertical, for a face-on view. Gould's Belt is the name given to the incomplete ring of bright stars around the less dense solar neighborhood. The closest red star to the Sun is Betelgeuse. |
