Summary[edit]

Description
English: Wooden passenger cars of the Ferrocarriles Unidos del Sureste in the Mérida-railway station (Calle 55/48), Yucatán, Mexico. Build in the 1890´s, still in use 1984. The toilet is a hole in the floor.

Photo taken 1984 with a Minox miniature camera.

The train trip between Palenque and Mérida was a popular part of the Gringo Trail. Since the beginning of the 90's there are no passenger trains any more at Mérida.
(Railway station not to be confused with the Museo de los Ferrocarriles de Yucatán (Calle 43 to 46, corner 50).
