Description
English: A 1984 Foden S106 (reg. A919 HAJ), pictured at the end of the 2012 HCVS Tyne-Tees Run. It's in the livery of John Gornall Transport. Originally an 8×4 rigid flatbed lorry, fitted with a crane for use as a brick carrier, it's been heavily rebuilt into a drawbar lorry comprising a 6×2 towing unit and a 2 axle trailer (upping the load capacity from 20 to 24 tons). The rebuild involved removing the second front steering axle and shortening the chassis (moving the rear axles forward), plus the fitting of a different crane, a drawbar coupling and a new cummins 380 engine. Loaded on the front deck is a Fordson tractor, a petrol/parafin Major E27N, chassis no. 1134058, engine no. 993489.
