Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 1970 AMC Javelin SST. A "muscle" pony car built by American Motors Corporation (AMC). This SST trim model finished in AMC's "Big Bad Blue" with a white stripe. "C-stripe" on the bodysides. This Javelin has the 390 "Go Package" that featured AMC's 390 CID (6.4 L) 315 hp (235 kW) V8 engine with Ram-Air hood as well as the available side-mounted dual exhaust system. Transmission is the Hurst shifted four-speed manual and additional entertainment is provided by the factory radio with integral 8-track stereo tape player It also features the Mark Donohue signature rear spoiler as well as the roof-mounted spoiler. Note, the factory "Magnum" styled steel road wheels for 1970 included a stainless steel trim ring, not the fully chromed wheel as on this car. Photographs were taken during the American Motors Owners (AMO) convention that was held in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
