1963-built Jodel DR.1051-M1 ‘Sicile Record’ at the 2018 Cotswold Airport Revival Festival, Gloucestershire, England. Notes: Jodel’s name is from the founders – Edouard JOly and son-in-law Jean DELemontez. The aircraft name ‘Sicile Record’ commemorates Pierre Robin’s win, flying a Jodel, in the Round Sicily Rally in 1964 at an average speed of 162mph. DR is Delemontez Robin, the joint designers of the 1050 models. DR100 models are: DR100 - first produced with 90 hp Continental C90. DR105 - as for the DR 100, but with hydraulic brakes. DR1050 - as for the DR 105, but with 100 hp Rolls Royce or Continental O-200 engine. DR1051 - as for the DR 1050, but with 105 hp Potez 4E20 engine. |
