The Model A, built from 1927-1931, replacing the Model T . The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals; throttle and gearshift. Previous Ford models used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. Unique to the Model A, was the fuel tank was located in the cowl. Differences through the years; 1928; old style fluted headlight lenses, shaped bumper 1929; new style headlight lenses, door handles on open models 1930; new shaped cowl, taller radiator, bumper now straight 1931; Stainless steel Ford logo on radiator (Blue in 1930), one piece splash apron above running boards (2 piece in 1930) Body styles available in 1928 were; 2 or 4 door sedan, 2 door coupe, 2 door roadster, 4 door phaeton, 4 door wagon and the 2 door pickup.
