It was produced between WWI and WWII, with institutions listing this with a 1920-1923 range. A young Steel Helmet cadet with a shadowy half smile looks out at the viewer, KOMM MIT the poster demands. The ominously striking composition is representative of Hohlwein s groundbreaking style. Ludwig Hohlwein (1874-1949) was a German poster artist, a pioneer of the Sachplakat style.
