Summary

[edit]
Description
English: In the second half of the 19th century it was common to cut a postage stamp in half so that both halves could be used for one-half of the value. This folded letter represents such usage. It could be that the post office ran out of the lower valued stamps and the sender of the letter was forced to employ this mechanism.
