von Carl Friedrich Gauß durch Carl Haase einmontierte Original-Fotografie (in Farbe?) des Gipsmodells der "Denkmünze auf Gauss"; hier ein Scan aus der 1877 bei Friedrich Andreas Perthes in Gotha mit überklebtem Impressum, ansonsten unverändert übernommen Restauflage der Erstausgabe; Bildnis des Mathematikers Carl Friedrich Gauß mit der Umschrift
Unter dem Halsabschnitt die Künstlersignatur. mit dem Porträt-Relief des im Jahr zuvor verstorbenen Mathematiker-Fürsten Carl Friedrich Gauß. Die Erinnerungs-Medaille, graviert von dem Medailleur Friedrich Brehmer mit dessen Signatur, entstand nach einer im Auftrag von König Georg. V. von Hannover in Göttingen durch den Hofbildhauer Christian Heinrich Hesemann genommenen Totenmaske und der von Hesemann geschaffenen Vorlage eines Gips-Medaillons.
