SIGNIFICANCE Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The white bend nebuly alludes to clouds and Group operations. The gray flight symbol represents the unit’s primary mission, and the dove’s wing, the preservation of peace. The arrow pointing upright and enflamed denotes the battle-ready flying unit and Native American connection to the State of Illinois where the unit’s progenitor organization was constituted in 1947.
