Deutsch: Unzer, Johann August: Gedanken vom Einfluß der Seele in ihren Körper. Halle: C. H. Hemmerde 1746, Erstdruck.
Johann August Unzer (1727 – 1799) arbeitet als Arzt in Hamburg (ab 1750) und einige Jahre später in Altona. Zwischen 1756 und 1770 war er Professor an der damaligen Universität Rinteln. Er verfasste zahlreiche Monographien und Aufsätze von aufklärerischem Charakter. Mit seiner Zeitschrift „Der Arzt“ (1759-1764) setzte er dem Aufklärungsjournalismus in Deutschland ein Glanzlicht auf. Der Erfolg der Wochenschrift war ohne Beispiel. Ein weitgehend Unbekannter, der in Altona praktizierende Mediziner und Journalautor Johann August Unzer (alias „Der Arzt“) wurde über Nacht zu dem Arzt seiner Zeit. In Deutschland, später auch in einigen Teilen Europas, war er die wohl am häufigsten konsultierte Autorität in Gesundheitsfragen (M. Reiber 1999). |
