Summary

[edit]
Description 160803-N-OI810-043 YOKOSUKA (Aug. 3, 2016) Seaman Rebecca Stephens, from Denver, cuts tape to apply to the batteries of a Firefly distress marker light attached to an MK-1 auto-inflatable life preserver in the hangar bay of the Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). The tape is marked with the batteries’ expiration dates. The distress marker light helps rescue boat crews and helicopter search-and-rescue crews locate Sailors in the water. Ronald Reagan provides a combat-ready force, which protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
