Description
English: An incomplete slightly warped cast lead-alloy medieval button of Medieval date.

Description: The button is cast in one piece and is domed with a flat back and drilled shank suspension loop, which is now incomplete. The suspension loop sits on clear casting seam. The front is decorated with a saltire with a pellet in each angle. The button is patinated an off white colour.

Measurements: 12.01mm in diameter, 7.15mm thick and 2.85g in weight.

Discussion: Read (2005, 18, no. 51) illustrates a near identical button in a lead/tin-alloy dated to the 15th century. Found in close association with <a href="https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/866644" title="View details for KENT-910F08">KENT-910F08</a>, a similarly dated lead alloy button
