Description
English: A copper-alloy floral mount of 15th-17th century date

Description: The mount is formed of two sets of oppose trefoil lobes, one set vertically opposed the other hozrizontally opposed. in the for of petals or leaves. This detail is picked out with a border in relief as well as floral and vegative motifs also in releif within each of the lobes forming the petals and the centre of the flower. The back is undeccorated with a long tapering square section shank remaining intact. Both one of the lobes and the shank have been bent.

Measurements: 25.45mm long, 16.1mm wide, 11.3mm thick (inc shank, 2mm without) and 2.49g in weight,

Discussion: A similar example is illustrated by Brian Read (2001, 32. no.252), dated to the 15th-17th centuries
