| Description |
English: 158 Squadron War Memorial, Lissett, East Riding of Yorkshire, England. Steel plate memorial features seven airmen and stands at the edge of Gransmoor Road on the outskirts of Lisset village. The Squadron was a heavy bomber squadron equipped with the four-engined Handley Page Halifax. The squadron carried out operations up to the end of WW II from nearby Royal Air Force Station Lissett. Between 1943 and 1945, 158 Squadron completed 250 missions, suffering the loss of 144 aircraft. 851 of the squadron's airmen were lost during the conflict. |
