Little Rock, Arkansas 72201 Dear Judge Bohlinger: Thank you for your letter of December 8, which serves as the formal request for erection of the Arkansas Memorial at Gettysburg. The next step will be the review of the scale drawings and inscription of the proposed monument, in my office and in the higher offices of the Park Service. I do not anticipated any serious problems in this review, but suggest that you instruct Cobb Memorials to send the data here as soon as possible. Construction can start any time after the necessary approvals of the design and site are given by my supervisors. We should be able to finish the paper work in the next month or two, and can look forward to starting the erection as soon as the ground thaws.
