| Description |
English: CF de l’Est Srs.12S or 141.701 Class/SNCF Class 141TD 2-8-2T No.141TD.740 (ex-Est No.141.740) in SNCF lined green livery at Longueville station on a service to Villiers St. George, during the AJECTA Festival, 8 May 2023. No.141.740 was built in 1933 by SFCM (Works No.4220).
Two prototypes were built by the Est’s Epernay works in 1930 followed by a production batch of 40 in 1932-33 to augment the earlier Srs.11S (SNCF 141TB). The class was put to work on the Paris Gare de l’Est suburban services. On electrification of the Gare de l’Est’s suburban services in 1955, No.141TD.740 and many of her sisters worked from the Gare de la Bastille with the Etat’s nearly identical 141TD Class (40 of which were built in 1932-33). The class was withdrawn in 1955-67, being outlived by the earlier 141TB’s. |
