Summary[edit]

Description
English: Horizontal, black and white photograph showing 1221-1225 Franklin Avenue, which later became part of Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Businesses shown include Block's Studio, a photography studio at 1225 Franklin operated by Louis Block; the New York Shoe Repairing Company at 1223 Franklin; and signs for an unidentified dentist, probably at 1221 Franklin. The signs for Block's Studio can be faintly seen on the second floor windows, and it is unclear if it occupies the ground-floor storefront as well.
