Description

Der Aufstieg vom S-Bahn-Haltepunkt Blankenberg auf die Burgruine nimmt etwa eine halbe Stunde in Anspruch, belohnt jedoch mit einer großartigen Aussicht auf die umliegende Landschaft und das eingleisige Siegviadukt, welches von der S-Bahn Köln, dem Rhein-Sieg-Express und einigen wenigen Güterzügen befahren wird. Üblicherweise verkehren auf dem RSX zwei Talent 2-Triebwagen in Doppeltraktion, doch ein Umlauf wird mit sechs neuen Bombardier-Doppelstockwagen und einer Lokomotive der Baureihe 120.2, hier 120 208, gefahren. //

The ascent from the S-Bahn stop Blankenberg to the castle ruin takes approximately half an hour but is recompensed by a great view on the surrounding landscape and the single-track Sieg viaduct, which is frequented by the S-Bahn Köln, the "Rhein-Sieg-Express" and very few freight trains. Normally, the RSX is run with two "Talent 2"-EMUs in double-heading, but two trains per day are served with six new Bombardier double-decker carriages and a Class 120 engine, in this case 120 208.
