Description
English:

2 preservationists use a yellow and black colored chain mortiser to create rectangular pockets in the large wooden timbers. The preservationists are at the end of the timber. 5 of the rectangular pockets are seen on the two pieces of timber.

Preservationists use a chain mortiser to create “mortises” in the pictured timber. Mortises are rectangular pockets cut into large wooden timbers and receive “tenons” which are cut to fit perfectly into mortises. Mortise and tenon construction forms the basis for much of traditional timber frame construction.
