English: Emblem of the 10th Mission Support Group of the 10th Air Base Wing at the United States Air Force Academy
Blazon: Azure, in sinister base, a globe axis bendwise Argent gridlined of the field, in dexter a compass rose of the second garnished Or all below in chief a demi-figure of the mythical Greek god Argus fesswise face to base dexter arm extended of the last, all within a diminished bordure of the like. Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "10TH MISSION SUPPORT GROUP" in Blue letters. Symbolism: Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The demi-figure represents the mythological Greek god Argus, the symbol of the heavens and overseer of all movements on earth, as denoted by the globe. Together, they signify the unit's lineage of air observation and reconnaissance. The compass rose reflects the Group's capabilities to defend the peace anywhere in the world. |
