Name: Beit Nehemiah, a monument to the martyrs of the Be
Description: The monument in memory of fighters from the Givati and Kiriyati brigades who fell in the Ben-Shemn convoy, on 14.12.1947, at the place where the convoy was attacked. On the monument are engraved the names of the 13 who fell in the battle.

שם: בית נחמיה אנדרטה לחללי שיירת בן שמן
תיאור: הגלעד לזכר לוחמים מחטיבות "גבעתי" ו"קרייתי" שנפלו בשיירת בן-שמן, ב 14.12.1947, נמצאת בכניסה למושב בית נחמיה, במקום בו הותקפה השיירה.על הגלעד חקוקים שמותיהם של 13 הנופלים בקרב, וכן שמו של פצוע השיירה שהחלים מפצעיו, חזר להילחם ונפל בקרב באשדוד ב 6.6.48
הערות: בן שמן הייתה מוקפת יישובים ערביים ולפי תוכנית החלוקה לא נמצאה דרך לכלול אותה במדינה היהודית. כוח האדם שלה היה דל וכלל צעירים מכפר הנוער וכמות הנשק שבה הייתה מעטה לאחר שרובו הוחרם על ידי הבריטים.אלפי תושבי תל אביב השתתפו בהלווית 13 חללי השיירה שנקברו בבית הקברות נחלת יצחק. ההלם והזעם הציבור היה גדול משום שאנשי השיירה נהרגו על ידי הלגיון הערבי שהוכנס לארץ על ידי שלטון המנדט והיה נתון לשליטתו המלאה. היישוב היהודי תבע מהבריטים לפנות את הלגיון מגבולות המדינה.הבריטים לא נענו לתביעות אלו.(ויקיפדיה)
