Name: Detroa Fort
Description: Fort Le Detroit from medieval French: Le Destroit; In Hebrew it is known, among other things, and apparently by mistake, as the ruin of Karta. There are the remains of a Crusader fortress, one of the first built by the Crusaders in the Land of Israel.

שם: מבצר דטרוא
תיאור: מבצר לה דטרוא מצרפתית של ימי הביניים: Le Destroit; בעברית מכונה בין היתר, וככל הנראה בטעות, בשם חורבת קרתא. במקום נמצאים שרידיו של מבצר צלבני, מהראשונים שבנו הצלבנים בארץ ישראל.
הערות: בשנת 1103 הותקפה במקום שיירתו של המלך בלדווין הראשון, ובעקבות כך ניתנה ההוראה להקמת המבצר. המסדר הצבאי של הטמפלרים בנה את המבצר על ידי כריית יסודותיו באבן החול-כורכר והפריד בין המגדל לשלוחה על ידי כריית כל האבן מסביב. החומר שנחצב שימש כחומר בנייה למבנה העליון (Superstructure) של מגדל העוז והחומה. במשך עשרות שנים שימש המבצר כמצודת דרכים שאיבטחה את השיירות שנעו לאורך דרך הים. עם תחילת בנייתו של מבצר עתלית העצום בשנת 1228, צורף המבצר לקו ההגנה הראשון של המבצר החדש, והפך לתחנה המתריעה על התקרבות.
