הערות: מאיר וולף וייסגל (1894-1977 ) אחד מהאבות המייסדים של מכון ויצמן למדע, כיהן כנשיאו ב1967–1970 ויו"ר הוועד הפועל שלו ב1954-1967. נולד בעיירה קיקול שבפולין, בשנים 1916–1914 למד עיתונאות באוניברסיטת קולומביה בארה"ב וסיים בהצטיינות. ב 1941 מונה לנציג חיים ויצמן בארה"ב ופעל להשגת תמיכתה בהקמת מדינת ישראל. ב 1949 עלה וייסגל לישראל עם רעייתו. התגייס לסיוע בהקמת מכון ויצמן ובפיתוחו. פעל להסבת שם המכון על שם הנשיא הראשון של מדינת ישראל, אותו העריץ. חלקת קברו וקבר אישתו נמצאת בגן מיוחד במכון ויצמן למדע
