Summary[edit]

Description
English: Tripods that come from a Late Iron Age farm. This excavation was in 1990 on the Strandweg in Rockanje. The farm lay on a peat hump in the vicinity of a peat water or an aquifer depression in the landscape. A good number of ‘tripods’ and weaving weights were found in the farm. The ‘tripods’ are pottery supports on which the pots of salt water stood during the evaporation process. Then the salt wrapped in special pottery was traded.
