English: This trilingual (Latin, Byzantine Greek, and Arabic) inscription stands in the Palazzo dei Normanni in Palermo, near the Cappella Palatina. It commemorates the building of a "horologium" (clock) in 1142, under King Roger II, and shows how different cultures were living side by side at the time without any "culture clash".
