English: Cast-iron covers made by the smelting works Ruhrort-Meiderich in Duisburg. They possibly date back to the inauguration of the route's extension from Südfriedhof to Madlow in 1926. If both have indeed been made in that year, they could showcase the transitional period shortly after the formation of the Vereinigte Stahlwerke AG (United Steelworks) also in 1926, of which the Phoenix AG was one of its founding members. The covers definitely predate WWII, however. |
