055A12 Roman vessel foot
Description
English: A Roman copper alloy pelta-shaped mount which is probably a vessel foot. The pelta is hollow and has an extension with a short vertical groove at each end and at the centre. It is 39mm long, 21mm wide and 6mm thick. The object has a green patina and weighs 11.52 grams. A similar example was found at Colchester (Crummy 1983, 72 no. 2051 fig. 76).
