Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lt. Cmdr. Romelda Sadiarin gives a tour of USS Coronado (AGF 11) to students from the Philippine Navy's Naval Education and Training Command. Coronado arrived for a scheduled port visit. The port visit gives the more than 450 Sailors, civilian mariners and Seventh Fleet staff members embarked aboard Coronado a chance to experience the unique culture of the Philippines, sightsee, and participate in community service projects. The ship is serving as the temporary command ship for U.S. Seventh Fleet while USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) is in a scheduled dry dock maintenance period. Besides serving as a temporary command ship, Coronado is also experimenting with a unique manning concept. The crew is made up of civilian mariners from the Military Sealift Command (MSC) and a small group of Sailors, designed to replace the 481 Sailors normally assigned to Coronado. The combined MSC/Navy crew of 263, and some augmentees from the Seventh Fleet flagship Blue Ridge, support the embarked Seventh Fleet staff.
