Summary[edit]
- Mace: A silver color mace, engraved on the head of the dome an image of a faceted star, surrounded by wavy flourishes of palms, encircling the head-shaft a border scroll engraved “THIRTY-SIXTH INFANTRY DIVISION BAND,” down the shaft on either side, a flint Indian arrowhead surmounted by the block “T.”
Symbolism[edit]
- The flint Indian arrowhead surmounted by the letter “T” is the unit’s shoulder sleeve insignia and distinctive unit insignia, worn by the soldiers of the 36th Infantry Division during European Operations in World War II.
- The white star combined with the scarlet and the blue background and scrolls represents the Texas state flag, the unit’s home state.
