Title
03/528 Buckle plate, rear view
Description
English: A buckle plate consisting of a single sheet, folded over, leaving two projections and a slot to contain the pin. The end away from the buckle is secured with two large dome-headd rivets c6.5mm diameter. The lower plate is plain; the upper is thicker and has raised, openwork, curvilinear shapes, perhaps zoomorphic, with traces of contouring engraved lines. It is possible that the head of any creature is obscured by the large rivets. The upper surface has traces of gilding.
