- The indented portion of the mace symbolizes mountains, alluding to the location of the unit, Roanoke, Virginia, near the Blue Ridge Mountains.
- The star reflects Roanoke’s nickname, “The Star City of the South,” which is inscribed on the mace.
- The drum displays the Virginia State crest below a yellow scroll edged white inscribed “TWENTY NINTH ARMY BAND” in dark blue; below are the campaigns and the awards of the unit.
- The tabard displays the state crest, surmounted on the shape of the shoulder sleeve insignia worn by the unit.
- Background: The band regalia was approved on 2006-05-15.
