012415 roman head stud brooch
Description
English: Roman copper alloy head stud brooch, 37mm long and 13mm wide. the brooch is very worn and has a green patina. It has short, solid wings which have a triangular section and hold the hinged pin which is intact and measures 22mm. The bow is decorated with a raised circle, 6mm in diameter, at its head and a line of horizontal incised lines decorates the rest. The bow terminates in a stepped foot and the catchplate is almost intact and measures 20mm.
