Description
English: Medieval to post medieval (AD c.1300-c.1600) copper alloy handle lug from a chafing dish, 23mm long, 16mm wide and 9mm thick. The object weighs 14.36 grams and has a pale green patina. The object is roughly oval in form and rectangular in cross section, with a circular aperture in the centre which is 6mm in diameter. Its flat end has a circular projection 2mm deep and 6.5mm in diameter.

The lug would have held the handle onto the vessel, for an example of one still attached to its handle see DENO-62CA2C
